Young at heart...

I believe in counting my life in friends, not years.Age is just a number and though there would be enough candles on my Chocolate Ganache cake,to melt it,I just make a Fruit Gateaux instead,to celebrate the completion of yet another year of my life! The advantages of being a Home-Baker...
I have decided that age is not going to be a barrier in having a good time,Thanks to my crazy bunch of friends, the parties just get more insane, and that much more fun.Now that they have less responsibility of their little ones, who are'nt so little anymore.Fun never asks your age, right,Sudipta Malik?
So,I have decided to flaunt my age,by going grey.I abhor fakeness-both in people and otherwise. So,why spend hours at a Salon covering up my age in my hair or my skin.I feel eternally youthful, and being young at heart is what matters, not a few strands of grey, nor a couple of laugh lines! What say?

Sleepless in Seattle

Hey everyone!
Those of you who know me,virtually or personally, will understand that travel is in fact an addiction, not just a passion for me.Those who are'nt aware, this blog is for you-you can do a bit of armchair-travelling with yours faithfully.
Out of my trips this year, the most memorable was Paris, with my Dad-enroute to London-where we park ourselves every year for over a month!Park,as in Holland Park, where my Dad spends most of his time as he is a voracious reader,He abhors shopping,as much as his daughters love it!So,he finds refuge in the lush greens, far from us,the madding crowd!
I am not too much of a reader. The maximum I can get through is probably a glossy-Good Housekeeping or any such! But,the most precious of these are the ones I get pampered with when I fly on an International Airline, heading towards the left of the aircraft, instead of being herded in cattle-class!But,keep that a closely-guarded secret!!
Else,my family,Daddy-not-so-cool,in particular, will say that it would be cheaper if I paid for and bought my own magazines, instead of flying Busyness Class to get them!Am not shocking him,not quite yet,but I plan to get free magazines every month the same way! This is because You Only Live Once!
I enjoy the meal(not the tin-foil covered kind)beginning with the Champagne, that is brought to you as you board and are cheerfully greeted by a 'Welcome Back,Ms. Hirjee'!Hence, always purchase a bottle for the parched throat, depending on the class of travel, after you clear X-Ray.
All I need is a couple of tips from all of you,so that my trips can be paid for,and my shopping can be indulged,by my Father and Godfather, aka Santa Claus, whom I spend quality and quantity time with, when we are on our coincidental annual vacation.Did someone say, charity begins at home?
A couple of sound trips, oops tips, and fervent prayers that the Markets dont crash, will ensure that my dreams can be big!
In fact, one of my favourite meals is at Hakkasan in Mayfair-where we splurge, else I have to suffice with an eat-as-much-as-you-want kind of Chinese eatery-there are lots such in Chinatown, with my partner-in-crime,my lovely Aunt,Shirin. All this depends,on how the market or 'maar-peet' as we fondly refer to it,swings.(At least,I am not the only one with hormonal mood swings then)
But,dont get me wrong,I am not selling Business Class to you guys.Though I actually wish I was, that too on on my own Private Jet!But,being the down-to-earth person we are raised to be,I am equally comfortable in a chair car,on a train,in India, jumping onto a dirt-track kind of makeshift platform in a remote place, called Galudih, where I had the most amazing short-break recently. Thanks to very gracious family friends-more on that later!
So,I am not really the fairy-tale Princess, just an ordinary girl next door, who has been bitten lethally by the travel-bug!Cant wait to be Sleepless in Seattle soon...
